Catherine, Princess of Wales was born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton on 9 January 1982.  Prior to her life as a royal, she studied Art History at the University of St. Andrews, where she met Prince William in 2001.  She holds a degree in Art History and worked in retail and marketing before their engagement was announced.  She and William were married on 29 April 2011, becoming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  Upon the death of William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, the couple were briefly known as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, before being officially named as the Prince and Princess of Wales days later.  She and William are the parents of three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, born in 2013, 2015, and 2018 respectively. Catherine holds patronage within over 20 charitable and military organisations, including Action for Children, SportsAid, and the National Portrait Gallery. She undertakes projects through The Royal Foundation, with her charity work focusing on issues surrounding young children, addiction, and art. Catherine envisioned the mental health awareness campaign "Heads Together", which focuses on mental health issues.
