Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey~Part Two

Hello, friends!  I have something a little different for you today.  But first, let me explain why.  I talked a bit about the inspiration about this hobby of duping royal fashions here, but didn't say anything about the motivation.  When I started, I did it to dupe fashions to fit my lifestyle.  I am a busy mom of 4 and, at the time, they were maybe 6-16.  I homeschooled them, worked from home, and shuttled the four of them to activities nearly every day.  Coat dresses would look a little out of place at the dance studio, but I knew I could take those pieces and tweak them to make them appropriate for work, running errands, and date nights with my husband or girls nights with my friends.  The kids are now 11-21 and my life has not slowed down at all (if you're interested in following along with our real life we're on Instagram here)!  So, part one will be my normal post.  Part two will be how I would take the inspo and tweak it for my real life.  If you like these kinds of posts, let me know!  I would love to do more.  And if you're interested in try-ons of these looks on a midsize body or a part three night out look, let me know that too.  If you'd like to skip to the work appropriate look, you can do that here.  Now, on to part two!

Final Thoughts:

On 20 December 2022, Princess of Wales arrived at Westminster Abbey to plant a tree in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as part of Queen's Green Canopy.    She can wear plaid like no one else, probably because she looks amazing every time she does!  Her blackwatch plaid coat was by Holland Cooper.  She wore it over an Iris & Ink turtleneck sweater and skirt which was paired with a custom pair of  Gianvito Rossi boots.  Very chic!

For, this casual look, I thought about how to combine what we know about Catherine's casual wardrobe with how to run around town comfortably. We are going to take the plaid onto the shirt and this flannel option by AMAZON ESSENTIALS comes in lots of colors, so you can definitely find a plaid you love!

Catherine loves a high waisted skinny jean and I think something like LEVI'S Super Skinny in Indigo Daze would look great with this look.

I'd pair it with a fun bootie, like one from VJH. It comes in a few different color options, so if you'd choose to go with a more neutral color, you can do that! These remind me of the Aquatalia booties Catherine wore to Coach Core a few years ago.

I think you can't ever go wrong with a solid color pea coat. I live in a warm climate and we only need coats a few times a year (it's 70 degrees right now), so I've had one by ALLEGRA K on my list for a while, but this may be the impetus I need to finally pull the trigger on it.
