I want to be the first to say this.  You're right.  She hasn't been Kate Middleton for a long, long time.  But, those of us who write about her know the truth is that "Kate Middleton" gets more search results than "Duchess of Cambridge" or "Princess of Wales".  So, from this point on, she will be referred to as "Catherine" or "Princess of Wales" or some combination of the two.  Don't hate the player, hate the game. Now that we got that out of the way...

Hello, friends!  A few days ago, I had a thought.  I thought, "I should make a go to list of items inspired by each of the royals."  That way, if someone has a particular style icon in any of the royal ladies that I cover, they could build a wardrobe or have a go to guide inspired by that particular person.  And so this series was born.  If you'd like to see more of this kind of content, let me know!  Or if there is a particular royal you'd like to see covered next, you can let me know that too.

So, I'm starting with Catherine, Princess of Wales because she is my personal style icon and I'm most familiar with her style.  So, on to the 10 dresses you need in your closet if the Princess of Wales is your style inspiration!

1.  Homeyee Floral Midi Dress

This is the dress that started it all for me!  It's a near perfect dupe for the green dahlia dress by Rochas that Catherine wore to the Chelsea Flower Show in 2017.
This one, by HOMEYEE, comes in at under $40 and is available in sizes 4-12.  A+ Green is the color closest to the original dress, but if green isn't your color, it comes in 17 other colors and patterns.

Everything about this dress says Catherine's name.  The background color, floral print, puff sleeves, midi length, high neck...all the boxes are checked.  She could wear this out to any engagement and I wouldn't blink an eye.  This dress, by ANRABESS, is available in 11 colors and patterns and sizes S-XL.  It's very budget friendly at under $50.  Some colors/sizes are under $40!

This gives me Catherine vibes. The pleated neck is very reminiscent of the neckline of the dress she wore to Princess Eugenie's wedding and she seems to love a peplum dress. It's also the right length for replicating the Princess of Wales style. This VFSHOW peplum dress has something for almost everyone. It's under $50, available in 45 color combinations, and in sizes S-3XL.

These dresses, both by VFSHOW, are very similar and I think you could see the Princess of Wales in either of these.  Both have some pretty detailing at the waist, which Catherine seems to really like, but they are slightly different.  The VFSHOW Pencil Dress comes in sizes XS-3XL and in 45 different colors and patterns.  The VFSHOW A-Line Dress also comes in sizes XS-3XL and in 45 different colors. Each dress is under $50.

This pleated dress by VERWIN is very reminiscent of the Karen MIllen dress Catherine wore to the Royal Surrey County Hospital. The details are a little different, but it is a great dupe.  It's less than $60. comes in nine colors, and is available in sizes M-3XL.

This bow neck dress by THUSFAR gives me vibes of the yellow Roksanda Catherine first wore on the Caribbean tour in March and the pink Stella McCartney she wore to the Jubilee pageant in June.  It's available in 5 colors and in sizes S-2XL for less than $50.

If there's one thing Catherine loves when it comes to clothing, it's polka dots!  And for good reason.  It's a classic pattern and can bring a little whimsy to an otherwise plain frock.  This one, picturerd here in navy, is mid-length, has flutter sleeves and a pretty detailing at the waist, a bit like we saw in the Rixo she wore to bring the kiddies to school.  It's by VERDUSA, comes in 3 colors and sizes S-XL.  It retails for just under $35.

In the last few years, Catherine has really leaned into the belted midi, especially in a print.  We've been seeing these on school runs and engagements.  They are really versatile and effortless, as they can be dressed up or down.  The ALLEGRA K dress comes in 2 prints and sizes XS-XL.  The GOTOTOP dress comes in 6 colors and patterns and is available in S-2XL.  They each retail for less than $50.

This bow neck dress by OXIULY checks several boxes for me.  Bow neck?  Check.  Elbow length sleeves?  Check.  Flared skirt?  Check. Midi length?  Checkity check check check.  It's available in 37 colors and patterns, so you can definitely find one you love.  It comes in at less than $35 and is available in sizes S-2XL.

Last, but certainly not least, this dress by KNITEE combines elements of some of my favorite Catherine dresses.  The color and button front remind me of her green Dolce and Gabbana Wimbledon dress the bodice design reminds me of her engagement dress by Issa London. This dress retails for under $40.  It's available in 4 colors and sizes S-2XL.

I hope you enjoyed this little list!  Happy Shopping!
